28th Oct 2005 - Timperley Sports Club is one of the best – Its Official!!.

It has been a proud month for Timperley Sports Club as they have picked up three highly prized awards for Cricket, Hockey and Lacrosse. They have been awarded ‘Clubmark’ status for Cricket and Hockey by Sport England and the highest rating possible in the equivalent ‘Lacrosse mark’ by the English Lacrosse Association.
‘Clubmark’ is the national quality accreditation scheme introduced by Sport England to recognise those clubs that have achieved high standards of coaching, fairness, safety and club management within their junior sports programme.

Whilst Timperley is not the first club to achieve this award, The Club has proved itself to be one of the very best by achieving these awards in not just one, but ALL OF THE THREE sports played at the Stockport Road Club!!
Commenting upon the three awards, Sport England Head of Partnerships and Delivery, Karen Keohane said, '”To achieve such a high quality in the delivery of junior sports coaching in Cricket, Hockey and Lacrosse is a unique achievement and one of which Timperley Sports Club should be proud. Sport England look forward to working with Timperley in the future as we both play our respective roles investing in the future of our young sportsmen and women”.
An ELA representative said, "We would congratulate Timperley on gaining Level 3 Lacrossemark. It is a tribute to the club and recognises the excellent job that is being done in all areas particularly coaching and administration."

As one the largest and most progressive sports clubs in Trafford, Timperley has always played a prominent role in the local community. John Swallow, Chairman of the Clubs Sports Development Committee believes this is one of the key reasons for the clubs success, “Any clubs future depends on attracting more players and Clubmark simply says that at Timperley you can be sure of the quality of coaching and support you will receive”.

Although Clubmark is primarily aimed at rewarding those clubs with high quality coaching programmes for juniors, Timperley is also finding that there is a spin-off in attracting sportsmen and women of a slightly different age group………. a number of parents have been attracted back to Cricket, Hockey and Lacrosse after their children have joined the clubs junior ranks. John Swallow again, “its not only about our junior programme, many members simply want to play a more social level of sport and at Timperley they can do this regardless of age or ability”.
