Come and have a look what's on offer this March at TSC

The weather played its part in what turned into a very eventful February, and as the snow continues through into early March, here's a quick look on what we've got to offer here at TSC this month.

The first weekend of the month sees double first team hockey action. Saturday 3rd March hosts both the Men's and Ladies 1s in crunch matches in their divisions. With the Ladies facing particularly stern opposition on Beeston, taking anything from this game would be a massive bonus. Weather permitting we're hoping for a complete set of fixtures throughout the weekend, but with the current frost it could be touch and go.

Sunday 4th March sees us host the wonderful Manchester Storm again for one of their supporters club socials, this time masquerading as a Smartphone Pub Quiz. These events are always fantastically well attended, offering the rare opportunity for fans to mingle with the players. This event has been sold out for weeks, with Danny Higgin looking forward to the return of his cult hero status, if only for a day or so.

Saturday 10th March hosts what is most likely to be the biggest game in the Ladies Hockey season as the 1st XI take on Fylde in a relegation scrap. Three points for our Ladies should secure our Premier League status for the third year in succession, whilst hoping to avoid another nail-biting playoff scenario like last years.

Sunday 11th March see's two huge fixtures; firstly the second leg of a TLC double header, with the First team playing their second match in the same number of days as they continue their battle with Poynton for their first ever league title. This week's opponents are Heaton Mersey, who having beaten us already early this season means there's an extra incentive if one was ever needed. Concurrently, our Boys U18's hockey team try and replicate last season's finals run as they take on Leek in the quarter finals of the national competition. The boys are one of three Timperley teams competing this day in their respective national comps, with the Girls U18's and the Mens Over 50's all facing tough away trips. As always, with two games of such magnitude we hope to see as many down in Timperley Blue as possible.

For the week running from Monday 12th March through till the 18th , TSC will be fully engaging with Paint Altrincham Pink week in support of the wonderful charity Prevent Breast Cancer. There will be a number of things running throughout the week, including a decorated Clubhouse, Janet Wood's infamous cake sales and even a limited edition run of pink TSC t-shirts, with the money raised from all events going directly to Prevent Breast Cancer aiding their research to hopefully one day stop this awful disease.

The crescendo of #PaintAltrinchamPink week ties in with a monster weekend on offer here at TSC. Saturday 17th March is our Pink and Green day here at TSC, where we attempt to tie St Patricks Day into our fundraising efforts. Kicking off the day we're fortunate enough to be hosting the Timperley & District Junior Football League U10's Autumn Cup Finals Day, with seven finals on offer running from around 9am. Most importantly the last final of the day will involve our very own Timperley Barca, here's hoping home field advantage plays its part. Following on from the finals we have what is intended to be the final day of the hockey season give or take the possibility of rearranged fixtures. There's always a brilliant buzz to the club on the final day of the season, and there'll be plenty of photo opportunities with the club hopefully awash with pink shirts! As well as being St Patricks Day it is also the closing game of the Six Nations, with what could potentially be a title decider between England and Ireland. The game will be on throughout the club as long as the usual days football fixtures as well.

To finish off the month, Timperley once again host their infamous local Vets Hockey Tournament. Sunday 25th March see's the old boys of the area rock up for their annual knock-around, followed by Kerri's infamous pie supper and a glass of port or two. It's always a fantastic bookend to the Hockey season and this year promises to be no different.

As well as everything mentioned above, we carry on with our usual routine here at TSC. The World Cup Bonus Ball will be running every week through March, with the 200 Club draw taking place on Saturday 17th March. Also as usual the bar will be showing all of the live football available this month, including the Premier League, Champions League and the Europa League fixtures.

We hope to see you all at some point over the coming month!
