After many months of planning, fundraising, reviewing costs and refining the scope of the project, we're delighted to confirm that work has now commenced on the next phase of Project 18.

Site preparation began on 18th May and marks a significant milestone in the club's long-term investment plans. While members have continued to enjoy a busy start to the summer season across cricket, football, hockey and lacrosse, a huge amount of work has also been taking place behind the scenes to bring the clubhouse development project to life.

The Board would like to thank everyone who has helped us reach this stage, including our volunteers, project team, sections, fundraisers and members who have already contributed through subscriptions and fundraising initiatives.

What Happens Next?

The current phase of work includes:

• Construction of the new clubhouse extension
• Installation of the new commercial kitchen and ventilation systems
• Improvements to bar storage and cellar facilities
• Refurbishment plans for the bar, foyer, function room and key communal areas
• Development of plans for an enhanced external seating area

The extension works themselves are expected to take approximately 12-14 weeks, with the majority of external works planned to be completed during the summer before internal fit-outs begin.

Whilst there will inevitably be some disruption as the project progresses, every effort is being made to minimise the impact on members, visitors, hirers and sporting activities.

Funding and Fundraising

Alongside progress on site, fundraising activity continues at pace.

Thanks to the incredible support of members, sections and supporters, the club has already secured more than £50,000 through fundraising initiatives, section contributions and Gift Aid, alongside over £200,000 of external funding.

There is still work to do to bridge the final funding gap and further information on fundraising initiatives, including the upcoming community share offer, will be shared with members in the coming weeks.

Member Information Sessions

As plans have evolved and the project has been brought back in line with budget, the previously planned member drop-in sessions have been rescheduled.

These sessions will provide an opportunity for members to see the latest plans, ask questions and help shape future elements of the development.
