Join our over 60s community walking group as we embark on a fun, inclusive and rather adventurous challenge! We are hoping to collectively cover the distance from Timperley to Edinburgh in just two hours! Starting and finishing at Timperley Sports Club, this is a relaxed and social event designed to get people moving, connecting and enjoying activity together. Come along and support them, join in or donate!
Join us on the challenge as a walker or wheeler or donate to show your support for this inspiring local group raising money to improve Timperley Sports Club, a charitable community benefit society in the heart of the community.
Participants will walk together (1 mile) to Timperley Athletics Track, where the group will take part in a series of short, manageable loops:
• Walk approximately 1 mile
• Cycle approximately 1 mile using adaptive bikes provided by Simply Cycling
The session is designed to be accessible, supportive and enjoyable for all abilities. Our regular Trundlers include 64 year olds managing various health conditions and 94 year olds who aren’t! After the activity, we’ll return to the club for a (hopefully celebratory!) lunch together.
Every mile covered contributes to our collective journey north to Edinburgh. Come along, get involved, and be part of something special! We are raising money to help our initiative support fundraising for our 'home' at Timperley Sports Club, raising funds to develop their community facilities and to reach even more local people.
This year's Trundle Challenge is part of the 2026 Greater Manchester Walking Festival
Now into our fourth year, The Timperley Trundle provides an accessible community rehabilitation service for over 60s in the area. The scheme is led by Physiotherapists who also provide biannual fitness testing from Chews Health, also based at Timperley Sports Club.
Join the Trundle Monday mornings (except Bank Holidays) at 10am at Timperley Sports Club.
